LCI

Ladies’ Circle (LC) was founded in Great Britain in 1936. The idea of forming a Ladies Circle International became real after contacts between the National Associations in these countries and in 1959 Ladies’ Circle International (LCI) was founded. The constitution was drown up, based on equality of all member Association within an international structure.

Today LCI is an international service organisation represented by approximately 14.000 members, in 36 countries across continents Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.

Every year all the member countries of LCI gather for an Annual General Meeting which is hosted the last week of August or the first week of September by one of the member countries. This time is used to review the activities of the previous year, elect new office bearers, chart the way forward for the organization. The best part of this event is that we also renew our friendships and make new everlasting ones!

Every second year, a new International Charity Project is chosen and supported by all member countries for a period of two years. Currently our Project is : ECAPT International (ecapt.com).

In 2006 LCI & RTI (Round Table International) signed a Memorandum of understanding between the two clubs to encourage a closer relationship whilst assisting each other. Referred to as the ‘Side by Side’ (SBS) agreement for which two pins have been produced. Proceeds from sale of pins go towards International charity projects for Ladies’ Circle and Round Table respectively.
